Home {again}

Sunday we officially moved out of our Long Beach house and completely into my parents' house in Chula Vista.  We had a garage sale on Saturday and Sunday and still ended up with what seems like a million boxes of stuff.  My mom was absolutely amazing and served as the business manager of the garage sale, the painter, and cleaner of the house while managing to entertain the kids every now and then!!  She did a spectacular job making my house looking shiny and new.  Meanwhile, I was packing and getting distracted every minute with something new, making me look and feel like a chicken with my head cut off.   It has been so overwhelming, both good and bad.

 I started off the weekend great, saying goodbye to our homeschooling group at the park, where my desire to home school was renewed and reassured.  Then we were so blessed with several of our wonderful neighbors coming over to help with the garage sale, clean up, and moving.  As we were finishing up, I found myself walking through the empty house and remembering all of the memories we made there.  And all of a sudden it hit me that this part of my life was over.  I thought that I was so ready to move on but I realized I was really going to miss the house, my neighborhood, and my life in Long Beach.  Nevertheless, we closed up the house, said a prayer, and drove down to move into the the very house I moved out of 11 years ago when Leo and I got married.

Moving in to my parents' house has been a very smooth transition so far.  My parents have been great -- putting up with all the things that come with 4 little ones who are home all day!  Leo has been great too, willing to adapt to living with my family, which isn't easy since we have been on our own for so long.  The kids still haven't completely adjusted to the fact that just because we are at Grandma at Grandpa's doesn't mean that it is a party 24/7!  Despite that, the homeschooling has gone awesome so far and I am looking forward to a successful year.  My parents adjusted everything and created a great "school" space for us that has worked out amazingly.   Lincoln loves Grandma's so much, he learned to walk last week while Grandma and Grandpa were babysitting!!!  He has been having a ball perfecting his skills all over the house.  It has been a joy to watch.

So, overall, we are very excited for what God has in store for our family.  Leo is enjoying his job very much and ready for the new challenges it brings.  We decided to rent out our house using a property management company (which makes me very nervous, but I am trusting in God) and I am anxious to see what becomes of that.  We are also faced with the task of finding a new church which is exciting and overwhelming at the same time.   Meanwhile, we plan on making the best of living at my parents' house, saving our pennies, and enjoying every minute with our family.

It has been 2 years!

Well, it has been two years since I last posted on here and I thought it was about time to start this up again, for myself, my family, and close friends. It is hard to believe that Mia is two already but we just celebrated her second birthday last week! She is growing up to be an adorable and hilarious little lady. Dolly says that "Mia is the funny one in our family" and I have to agree. She keeps everyone looking at the bright side of things and definitely keeps us laughing. Dalia also turned four this month and we celebrated in Palm Springs with our family and her Sunday School friends and their parents (it was all her idea, by the way). She is developing to be and incredibly creative and confident girl, who may be too smart and crafty for her own good sometimes! She definitely keeps Leo and I on our toes and constantly reevaluating our parenting. Sophia is going to be 6 in November and growing up fast. She continues to be disciplined and organized

Funny story

Fun at Grandma Acosta's I love my daddy My baby is as big as me! Sisters Yesterday we were rushing to get ready for church. I was trying to get the girls dressed to I could go get ready. Sophia was rolling on the floor and just not paying attention to me. I asked her to go get her dress and come so I could put it on her. She brought me the hanger and laughed and was just not really into getting ready. I kind of snapped at her and told her to hurry up and stop messing around or else we were going to be late. She slowly turns to me and says, "Mom, you have to be patient with me." I couldn't help but laugh and apologize for rushing her.
